Reviews, reviews, reviews! Oh my!

To me, one of the most nerve-wracking, yet extremely exciting, things about writing and publishing a book is receiving a review. As an author, I yearn for my readers to enjoy my stories. I want them to experience a satisfied, happy feeling, a sense of friendship with the characters, an escape if they need it. But what if they don't? What if they don't connect with my characters? What if they don't like my story? What if my writing just down-right sucks??

That could happen. It's a horrible thought, but in this line of work, you can't please everyone. And that's okay! I've received both good and bad reviews in the past. I take what I can from each one to try and make me a better writer. I look at every review as a chance to improve somehow. Even though criticism can be hard to take, it's one of the most important things to receive for any author...or any person for that matter.

On a positive note though... I've received nine 5-star reviews on Amazon for Caught Up in Candy Cane Kisses and I am absolutely tickled!! YAY!!
